Musical Influences -
Craig's formative musical years occurred in the Mid to Late Seventies, and several bands of that era created an indelible mark on his playing style (especially the Doobie Brothers, who Craig still follows to this day). Craig also enjoys listening to and performing songs from the Motown/R&B/Soul eras, which were recorded by the unsung heroes of the Motown Hitsville era, The Funk Brothers.

Craig is a veteran of the musical "trenches" in the Sandusky and Cleveland area. During his 25+ year musical "adventure", he has had the opportunity to perform with a variety of talented local musicians and bands including (oldest to newest): NightWind (Thanks Bernie for giving a 16 year old kid a chance), Four Way Street, Heartlight, BreakAway, Rendezvous, Escapade, The Stokes Brothers Blues Band, Twist, and a bunch of others he just can't remember.

One of Craig's fondest musical memories was having the opportunity to "sit in" at the famous Tipitina's night club in New Orleans LA, with the legendary Rockin' Dopsie and the Zydeco Twisters, Harry Connick Sr., and Cyril Neville of the Neville Brothers. Now that was a night to remember!

Recently, Craig has had the opportunity to study drumset theory with drum "guru" George Lawrence (www.drumguru.com), who came to Akron via Nashville. Many of George's current and former students are professional touring and studio drummers.

Style -
The Centerpiece of the rhythm section, Craig's steady meter and "in the pocket" style create a solid foundation for the band's dance oriented material.

Equipment -
Craig is an avid collector of Rogers and Ludwig vintage drums. In fact, Craig's current kit he plays with RHB is a "rescued & restored" 1963 Rogers Blue Sparkle.

On the Ray Hall Band -
I'm really excited about being part of this band, and I'm having a great time performing with these extremely talented guys! Dennie and I have been friends for years, and we've always talked of playing together again, after our successful run in the early 80's with Sandusky band Four Way Street. The timing was right, and we got our wish!

The Personal Stuff -
Craig lives the suburbs of Cleveland with his wife Cathy and two extreme skater sons, and would like to thank them for their support, sticking with him all these years, and putting up with the crazy life of a musician! You are the love of my life, and my inspiration LP!
